Not quite what I expected
The hotel's distinct charm is overshadowed by noise issues, especially from nearby bars. It features an enjoyable library and sports bar for family fun, yet the dining options didn't quite meet my expectations. Despite some underlying problems, the location provides access to great skiing without the crowds. Wouldn't mind visiting again.

We loved the fact that Dr. Holms Hotel is a historical Hotel. It is full of beautiful antique furniture, displayed tastefully throughout the different areas of the hotel. We also enjoyed so much the amazing outdoor jaquzzi! As the steam rose from the relaxingly hot water, we looked upon the Geilolia ski slopes, right in front of us, what a great feeling!

I loved the place, its savoury and great breakfast.
I got a decent size and beautiful room with view. The location was good for exploring this very nice area, just off the road construction, the ski area and the closest slope...

Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly.
Hotel was generally far too hot (including hotel room) which made it feel a little stuffy. Excellent selection of breakfast items including cooked items but hot food was not kept hot hence was cold for all 3 days of our stay (eg. baked beans, scrambled eggs). I read this comment on previous reviews and advised the hotel on several occasions but to no difference. Otherwise a lovely staff for the family.

The afterski bar
The general conditions of the hotel. Very worn down. No safe in the hotel room. Poor selection of toiletries, nor ironing board in the room. Nor show shine kit. Not sound proof at all, could hear everything the next room talked about.

Stylish property, has incredibly nice staff at all times. Stunning area, marvellous location, really close to slopes as well as the valley. Situated only 1 km from Ustedalsfjord.
